One of the primary
purposes of this site is to utilize scientific reasoning to help
confirm the existence of God for those who doubt and/or question
traditional devotion. Beginning with the earliest civilizations,
all peoples were preoccupied
with the belief in a higher supernatural Creator. Clues are found in
every ancient culture from the
Aztecs to the
Zapotecs supporting the idea
of a Supreme Being and a continuation of a supernatural existence
after the mortal one. The first advanced civilizations such as the
ancient
Egyptians were so preoccupied as to create the immense
structures of the great Pyramids to assist the
Pharaohs in entering the
next life. Even cultures separated by vast oceans followed similar
paths. Why? The clues are all around us. This site is designed
to assist Catholics as well as other Christian denominations in
debating with atheists. In certain aspects it may also be of assistance
to some of the Jewish faith, hence we have a Jewish contributing
writer. This topic is becoming of
increasing importance due to the effects small minorities are
attempting to impose on the vast majority.
Productive
debating with veritable or science based atheists can require
mutually accepted criteria, methodology and fundamental foundation,
such as logic, rational and science, to elicit mutual conformity.
In these circumstances, the Bible, Faith and/or Private Revelation
could be an enigma to these particular nonbelievers, as the Bible
could be considered biased. Faith and Private Revelation would
likely be considered supernatural and/or unverifiable as well (aside
from the 1917
Miracle of the Sun at Fatima,
Portugal - a miracle that was performed in front of tens of
thousands of skeptical spectators at an exact time and place so that
"All may believe"). Conversely, contrived atheists endeavor to
focus on Biblical disputation, pirating the bulk of their ammunition
from websites constructed to contend with evangelical Christians. Many of
these sites were erected by influential Jewish Professors to help curtail the crisis of escalating Jewish conversions to Christianity; such as
MessiahTruth.yuku.com.
By barraging novice Catholic
debaters with this huge bulk of philosophical disputations compiled
by some of the most prominent Rabbis in the world, atheists have
manipulated some believers into performing reverse triple
pirouetting summersaults in defending their faith. An example would
be evidence that the town of Nazareth was unsettled in the first
Century; this substantiation eventually unraveled in 2009 when
archeologists discovered a first Century Jewish home in Nazareth (1).
Resolute Atheism necessitates an absence of anything to do with an
entity of a spiritual nature that would have been capable of
creating or maintaining the Universe. Consider a young child
in Disneyworld, unaware of the network of underground tunnels
necessary for exhibit functions. The parent is aware that
there is more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye.
Likewise, the earliest cultures realized that there is more going on
regarding creation than meets the eye. The devout spiritual
can read between the lines and perceive what the
myopic minded fail to perceive. Most people are able to reason that there must be an
Intelligent
Design to the formation and maintenance of the Universe. Yet,
even today, there are small minorities who are unable to comprehend that connection.
(click on "Intelligent
Design" for arguments revealing scientific proof of God's
Hand in Creation)
Atheists have been adept at bolstering their numbers by
attempting to affix themselves to non-religious categories of
poll studies (2). For example; a statistical study of major
religions of the world ranked by the number of adherents, sets non-religious at about 16% worldwide
(3).
The polls establish that half of
that segment are simply non-practicing, while the remaining 8%
are comprised of agnostic, atheist, secular humanists, as well
as no specific religious preference, "atheists are a small
subset of this grouping". Where an atheist might
endeavor to lead others to consider their category to be
16% - 18% of the general population, it is more
realistically about
3% -
4%. According
to a 2012 graph published by the Pew Research Center (an
American Think Tank Organization based in Washington, D.C.
that provides Government information on issues, attitudes and
trends shaping the United States), people describing
themselves as "atheist" represented 2%
of the total US population (4). Via several analogous
poll studies, it is evident that only a fraction of that figure represents those who
truly believe that there cannot be a Supreme Creator
- coupled with the belief that
there is no life after death. These figures bring an
entirely new level to the renowned phrase: "the tail wagging the dog".
Atheists have the lowest retention rate of any religious group
(5).
At the bottom of the chart, atheists retain only
30% of their
congregation, which at least indicates that most become wiser
as they get older.
70% of Americans raised by
atheist parents to believe that God does not exist,
eventually become a member of a religion as an adult. Whereas
religions such as Christians typically only swap denomination.

Billboard mocking Christianity in Times Square
Why Argue?
One of the principal functions for arguing or debating can be
illustrated by the ever increasing attacks on Religious
Liberty, particularly by militant atheists, who have
repeatedly demonstrated contempt for other people's rights to
hold and practice Religious beliefs. Christians (particularly
Catholics) are specifically targeted because of our "turn the
other cheek philosophy" which can make us appear to be the
most vulnerable targets "But I say to you, do not resist an
evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn
the other to him also" (Matthew 5:39). Nonbelievers have
characteristically confined harassments to nonviolent
faiths; observably none of their billboards would venture into mocking Mohammad.
In addition to harassing Catholics, millionaire atheists such
as Todd Stiefel have solidly identified themselves as
Democrats, financing billboards attacking Republican
politicians over their belief in God (6,
7).
On the second day of the
Democratic convention the attendance
loudly denied God three times. On
the closing of the final day, Cardinal Dolan courageously
spoke against their core philosophy; the systematic murdering
of tens of millions of innocent babies, free contraception,
socialism, etc.
Atheist groups are much less intimidated proclaiming Jesus as a myth, notwithstanding
that John Dickson (Founding Director of the Center of Public
Christianity) challenged that if any atheist could find a full
professor of Classics, Ancient History or the New Testament in any
Accredited University in the world who believes that Jesus never
lived, he would eat a page out of his Bible (8). His Bible has
remained quite safe. The
Catholic faith is being attacked at unprecedented levels, from
removal of Crosses from Military gravesites to Nativity scenes
throughout the Country. Currently, Catholics in the the USA
are fighting for their rights against a Religiously hostile
Presidential administration attempting to force an agenda on
Catholic Americans incongruous to our faith (9,
10,
11,
12). The HHS Mandate
being imposed on Catholics by the Obama administration will force
Catholics to fund abortion producing drugs and contraception.
Catholic Doctrine has opposed the killing of
defenseless babies and contraception for over 2,000 years.
"And whosoever shall harm one of these little ones, it is better for
him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast
into the sea" (Mark 9:42) and "Thou shalt not kill" (the 6th
Commandment).
The Holy Roman Catholic Church's position on abortion has
placed It in the crosshairs of atheist and liberal groups for
decades. Providentially, some science based atheist groups
have very recently
trended toward a Pro-Life position (13,
14,
15). Although the Catholic
Church's Pro-Life stance is founded on Old (Torah) & New Testament
Doctrine, science based atheist groups arrived at parallel
conclusions founded on fundamental logic. For example;
many Freudian Psychotherapy textbooks teach that when severely
emotionally distraught patients regress into a fetal position,
they are reverting to a time when they felt most secure, in
their mother's womb. Hence, if medical patients can recall
their emotions and feelings before birth, it supports the
rationale that a fetus (Latin word for baby or young child) is
a living person.
Other conclusions were based on how the fetus
responded to stimuli, pain, etc., coupled with the
impracticality of producing incontrovertible evidence
supporting contentions that a fetus is not a person.
Pro-Life atheist Christopher Hitchens: "..the fetus is
also an autonomous individual, and that society
cannot decently permit one body (or soul) to be owned or
disposed of by another" (16).
“Frankly, I had thought that at the time Roe
was decided, there was concern about population growth and
particularly growth in populations that
we don’t want to have too many of.” ~ Supreme Court
Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
The Trouble With Atheism (Part 1 of 7)
Dr. Bernard Nathason (the atheist co-founder of NARAL) became
Pro-Life and eventually Catholic due to sonograms and other
advances in observing the fetus (17). Sandra Fluke, a law student from Georgetown University, was
afforded prime
speaking time at the 2012 Democratic Convention for
quarrelling how contraception for her recreational dorm room sex
exceeded $3000/yr. The Democratic vision is to force taxpayers to foot these
expenditures. Irregardless of how many truckloads of condoms
were delivered to Fluke's dorm; there
are 157 million women in the USA, that's about half a trillion
per year in new debt. Notwithstanding that the first day of the
Democratic Convention commenced on Obama's crowning
achievement of skyrocketing the National Debt past the $16
trillion mark (at $22T the USA becomes insolvent, as we would
become unable to meet our minimal debt obligations; Our
financial predicament would become tantamount to Greece).
These Democratic ideologies have cost us our National Credit
Rating (which is about to be downgraded a second time),
increased unemployment to levels not seen since WWII (from an
average of 5.24% under George W. Bush to an average of 9.12%
with Barack Obama), and nearly doubled the
people on food stamps and unemployment. And now Obama is
giving 20 free F-16 fighter jets ($20 million production cost
each / $400 million total) and 200 tanks ($8 million
production cost each / $1,600 million total) to the Muslim
Brotherhood in Egypt. What's next? Sending terrorists free American
made suicide bomb belts?
Aborted babies found in garbage bags in
dumpster behind abortion mill in Michigan.
Singled out from over 41,000 Christian denominations (18),
the Catholic Church has typically been an exclusive target.
Many Catholic adversaries have contended that the Vatican
should sell all its artwork, buildings, Churches, museum
artifacts and relics donated over the past two thousand
years and give the proceeds to the poor. Aside from being a
novel approach for
dismantling a nemesis; should we also liquidate all our great
museums (such as the Museum of Natural History) and give all
the proceeds to the poor? All these artifacts are on display
for the millions people who visit the Vatican every year to
view our Catholic Heritage.
Notwithstanding these criticisms,
the Catholic Church is still the largest charitable organization in
the entire world. Adding up just Catholic Charities, Food for
the Poor, Catholic Relief Services, St. Jude's, and America's
Second Harvest alone total $5,570,000,000, which is greater
than #1 on the list for America (19).
"The nonprofit health-care system includes 637 hospitals,
accounting for 17% of all U.S. hospital admissions. The
Catholic Church runs 122 home health-care agencies and
nearly 700 other service providers, including assisted living,
adult day care, and senior housing. Catholic hospitals alone have annual expenses
of $65 billion and account for 5% of U.S. health-care
spending. Catholic Charities USA consists of 1,400 agencies
that run soup kitchens, temporary shelters, child care, and
refugee resettlement" (20).
It would make more sense for those who oppose the Catholic
Church liquidate all their assets and give it to the poor.

15 years before 1963 pregnancies in girls ages 15 through 19
years had been no more than 15 per thousand After 1963
pregnancies increased 187% in the next 15 years.
2. For
younger girls, ages 10 to 14 years, pregnancies since 1963 are

Darrell Scott (father of Rachel Scott - victim of the
Columbine High School shootings) addressed the House Judiciary
Committee: "We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we
open the doors to hatred and violence" (21).
C. Education
1. The
educational standard of measure has been the SAT scores. SAT
scores had been steady for many years before 1963. From 1963
they rapidly declined for 18 consecutive years, even though
the same test has been used since 1941.
2. In
1974-75 the rate of decline of the SAT scores decreased, even
though they continued to decline. That was when there was an
explosion of private religious schools. There were only 1000
Christian schools in 1965. Between 1974 to 1984 they increased
to 32,000.
a. That could have an impact if the private schools had higher
SAT scores. In checking with the SAT Board it was found that
indeed the SAT scores for private schools were nearly 100
points higher than public schools.
b. In fact the scores were at the point where the public
schools had been before their decline started in 1963 when
prayer and Bible reading/ instruction was removed from the
schools.
c. The scores in the public schools were still declining.
3. Of
the nation's top academic scholars, three times as many come
from private religious schools, which operate on
one-third
the funds as do the public schools.
D. The Nation
1.
Since 1963 violent crime has increased 544%.
2.
Illegal drugs have become an enormous & uncontrollable
problem.
3. The
nation has been deprived of an estimated
55 million
citizens through legal abortions just since 1973.
There appear to be two rudimentary classifications of nonbelievers,
for lack of conventional designations, we have referred to these
groups as "Contrived Atheists" and "Veritable Atheists". Before
debating, it would be prudent to ascertain which category the
contender represents. The vast majority seem fall into the
"Contrived Atheist" classification. These self-proclaimed
nonbelievers appear to have an entrenched hostility towards religion
in general. These evangelical atheists characteristically
exhibit an apparent abhorrence towards God, likely resulting from
something grievous that happened in their lives, which they somehow
ironically attributed to God. They tend to exhibit a complaining whiney
persona, that can almost appear comical. It is difficult to
consider these people genuine atheists, particularly due to the
perplexity of being angry at something they proclaim not to exist;
literally blaming God for everything from zits to the
Andromeda - Milky Way collision (predicted to
occur four billion years from now). These are the people whose
actions help support the popular theist conviction; "There are no such thing as
authentic atheists". Arguing with this form of atheist will likely
digress into trading "one liners" or "barbs of pointed witticisms",
with diminutive results. They can remind you of the typical axioms;
"going in one ear and out the other" or "spinning your wheels".
Most of these professed nonbelievers endeavor to "jerk your chain"
or "attempt to get a rise out of you". They are tantamount to those who argue that NASA never landed on
the moon in the late 60''s and early 70's. Whether the
evidence be communication records, Moon rock samples, photographs,
retro-reflectors left on the lunar surface, testimony, video, etc.,
all evidence is completely ignored. They tend to talk at you
with memorized lines, completely oblivious to what to what anyone
else is saying. One amusing ruse is to ask
"If you died and found yourself before God, what would you say?"
They all seem to have a skillfully prepared statement. Even the late
famed atheist Christopher Hitchens (God rest his soul) was once
caught off balance retorting "At least I never faked belief in order
to win your approbation" (22).
The bottom line is; If contrived Atheist are thoroughly convinced
God doesn't exist, why do they all have a memorized emergency
parachute plan "B" statements? In contrast, "Veritable Atheists"
are fundamentally science based and appear to have a more balanced
or logical approach
in debating. They tend to demonstrate a genuine interest in
objective systematic discussion incorporating sound reason. They
appear to have a genuine interest in arguments challenging and
supporting a Supreme Creator, and lack the dramatic emotional God
and religion bashing. Arguing with these nonbelievers
can feel more like a rational discussion than a debate.
When debating with an atheist, it becomes apparent that they do have
some legitimate contentions, particularly with Catholics.
Likewise, we do have some very questionable actions in our history
that can be awkward to defend. It is a foregone conclusion
that atheists will gravitate towards these tough topics.
Regretfully, this has lead some Catholics to become perceptibly
uncharitable while debating. Debating with a knowledgeable
atheist can certainly become arduous, as all the skeletons will be
dragged out of the closet. Subsequently, it would be prudent
to become acquainted with certain targeted segments of history,
particularly regarding events in the past that can be most
vulnerable.
The three major Catholic Inquisitions (Medieval 1148-1230,
Spanish 1478-1501 & Roman 1542-1858) are likely targets. These
were very brutal periods of history in which the Church was
defending territory from hostile Muslim conquerors (Moors), as
well as reclaiming Islamic conquered provinces. In those days,
Christians living in Muslim occupied territory who resisted
converting to Islam were executed by the tens of thousands.
Many Christians in these occupied territories pretended to
convert, but practiced Catholicism in secret. The Catholic
Church also held somewhat of a hard line, about 2,250 people
were tortured and killed over a period of about 710 years for
anything ranging from doctrinal disputes, to apposing
scientific ideologies (approximately 3 people per
year). For
example, centuries ago, the Catholic Church (as well as all
developed society at that time) adopted the
Celestial Sphere Orbs Theory developed by Aristotle (debatably an
atheist). In these
celestial models, the stars and planets are carried around by being
embedded in rotating crystal spheres moving around the Earth.
The Catholic Church was open to Aristotle's theory because
Genesis 7 in the Bible states: "God
made a dome, and it separated the water above the dome from
the water below it".
Hundreds of years later when 3,500 year old copies of Genesis
were translated from the Dead Sea Scrolls, we learned that
this dome (firmament in some translations) was only referring
to the sky or atmosphere. Giordano Bruno (a Catholic Priest Philosopher) was burned at the stake by the Church for
heresy (February 17, 1600) and his writings
forbidden because he believed in the Copernican Heliocentrism theory
by Nicolaus Copernicus, which held that the Earth was spherical and
orbited the Sun (23). As bizarre as it may seem, notwithstanding Nicolaus
Copernicus
was a Catholic Astronomer with a Doctorate in Canon Law, his Earth/Sun model was condemned
on the Catholic Church's Index of Forbidden books. A statue of Bruno was constructed in 1889 at
the site where Bruno was burnt, which
eventually became a place of annual commemoration
by atheists (24,
25). Oddly, some Catholics
opted to sanction the burning of Bruno in several debate
discussions, citing unsupported anti-religious claims that were
likely fabricated to help justify and seal the execution. "Cardinal
Angelo Sodano declared Bruno's death to be a "sad episode". Despite
his regret, he defended Bruno's persecutors, maintaining that the
Inquisitors "had the desire to preserve freedom and promote the
common good and did everything possible to save his life" by trying
to make him recant (26).
The quandary of Sodano's contrite
account is that the Earth actually
is spherical and does orbit the sun. Giordano Bruno’s
jaw was clamped shut with an iron gag that pierced his tongue
with iron spikes. He was then paraded through the streets of Rome,
stripped of his clothes and burned at the stake wearing the tongue
piercing gag. Notwithstanding that Jesus told several self
righteous Pharisees attempting to execute a woman caught in the
act of adultery: "Let
he who is without sin cast the first stone"
(John 8:01). How did the Church digress so far from
Scripture?
What They Don't Teach Our
Children In Public School
One
of Britain's most resolute unbelievers. A philosopher who for
many decades has proclaimed his lack belief in any kind of
God. Then late at 2004 Professor Antony Flew declared that he
had changed his mind after reading Dr Gerald Schroeder's
books. (Dr Schroeder is a leading Israeli scientist)
Famous atheists
last words before dying
The
left wants to rip God from the Sky, but they demonstrate their
weakness when they attempt to rationalize our Creator away
The next Copernican target was the
famous astronomer Galileo
Galilei, who was threatened to be
burned at the stake and shown the torture devices (including the
recovered tongue piercing gag) used on Giordano Bruno. He was
compelled to sign a document supporting Aristotle's Celestial Sphere
theory and denouncing Copernicus' Heliocentrism theory. In 1642, the great
astronomer Galileo died in custody. These lessons are directly why
the Catholic Church abandoned disputation of verifiable scientific
evidence. "The Catholic position on
[scientific creationism] is clear. St. Thomas [Aquinas] says that
‘one should not try to defend the Christian Faith with arguments
that are so patently opposed to reason that the Faith is made to
look ridiculous.’ It is simply nonsense to say that the world is
only 6,000 years old. To try to prove this scientifically is what
St. Thomas calls provoking the irrisio infidelium, the scorn of the
unbelievers" (27). Another example
of the harshness of the Church in those days would be a Pomponio Alerio, a young Civil Law Student who in 1556 was slowly
boiled to death in oil for believing that men are capable of
performing good
works of their own merit. The Church taught that no man could do
anything good without God's help. In Pomponio's case, the Church
offered the hospitality of strangling him before boiling him in oil
if he recanted, which he refused. Five hundred years ago there was
only one Church; The Holy Roman Catholic Church. But the harshness
in those days is likely why there are over 41,000 Christian based
religions today. Jesus prayed: "I pray that they will all be one,
just as you and I are one" (John 17:28). As Catholics, we pray that
one day these 41,000 branches will be graphed back onto the vine
from which they had became separated.
There are more recent
examples of reported religious mistreatment by the Catholic Church.
From the 1950's to the 1970's, it is claimed that the Catholic
Church in Australia forced over 150,000 women to adopt their newborn
babies against their will (29,
30). Perth
Archbishop Barry Hickey issued a statement on July 25, 2011 that
there was little evidence to support these forced adoption claims (28). On the premise of
rehabilitating young girls, the Magdalene Laundries began in Ireland
in 1767, expanding throughout Europe, Britain, Canada as well as the United
States, and lasting to as recently as 1996. Although the first were
Protestant facilities, many were operated by Catholic Nuns. The 2002 movie "The Magdalene Sisters"
was a dramatizing film loosely based on a 1998 television shock film
"Sex
in a Cold Climate". The foundation of these films
is based on the testimony of four women: Phyllis Valentine, Brigid
Young, Martha Cooney and Christina Mulcahy (who have pending
monetary lawsuits against the Irish Government and Catholic Church).
These two films caused such a multi-national outrage against the
Catholic Church that the United Nations (UN) became involved. On
June 6, 2011, the UN formed a special committee on the Magdalene
Laundries, which demanded a full
investigation by the Irish Government (31).
The basis of these films is that when a young girl became pregnant out of
wedlock in Ireland (including circumstances of compulsory rape), the baby was forcibly
sent off to adoption and the girl was sent to many years of
mandatory
slave labor at a Magdalene Laundromat. Life there was depicted as cruel;
these young girls were forced to scrub clothes all day and were
allegedly sexually molested by lesbian nuns on a routine basis.
However, on February 5, 2013, the resulting Irish Government "Report
of the Inter-Departmental Committee to establish the facts of State
involvement with the Magdalene Laundries" headed by Senator Martin
McAleese found these abuse claims to be completely fabricated (32).
For example, 4 minutes & 20 seconds into the film "Sex in a Cold
Climate", Brigid Young testified that "They used to touch you a
lot. They used to line us up every Saturday night, and they
used to make us strip naked for them. And we would be standing at
the bottom of the laundry, and they would be laughing at us, and
they would be criticizing us, and if you were heavy, fat or
whatever, they would shout abuse to us. We had no privacy. They
would enjoy having us strip naked". However, the 118 women (all
available minus the handful suing the Church and the Irish
Government)
interviewed in the McAleese Report (who were institutionalized with
Brigid Young) had no recollection of any of these abuses (33).
Furthermore, they all testified that they never even heard of such
mistreatment. The real "so-called" Magdalene Laundry survivors were more shocked
and surprised by these abuse allegations than anyone else. The
Catholic League has released a booklet entitled "Myths Of The
Magdalene Laundries" dispelling numerous false claims with
factual evidence (34).
With the testimony of the 118 women as well as the depositions of
all the living doctors who treated these women at the Magdalene
facilities, the claims of mistreatment seem to be categorically
impossible.
Many of these
fanatical behaviors may be attributed to the resulting countless Christian
splinter groups who eventually chose to gaff themselves off from the Apostolic Successorship of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. It is
also likely that several of these actions
alienated other people who chose to abandon the Christian faith, and quite
possibly any faith altogether. In September of 1999, one
of the greatest and most loved Popes, John Paul II, took the noble
action of issuing a formal apology for all the mistakes committed by
some Catholics in the last 2,000 years of the Church's history,
including the trial of Galileo (35,
36). For these reasons, the Holy
Roman Catholic Church abandoned dogmatic adherence to theoretical
models susceptible to alteration as science progresses. Distancing
Itself from Creationism, toward science based Intelligent Design;
the idea that the broad aspect of creation reveals a logical
strategic plan. Similar to how analyzing the brush strokes of a
painting can reveal details about the artist.
The pedophile priest scandal frequently becomes a poignant target. Adept
atheists are well aware of the of the infamous 1962 Secret Vatican
directive authored by Cardinal Alfredo Ottaviani (then head of the
Holy Office) which mandated the excommunication of children
victimized by pedophile priests in the event they sought help from
authorities, (as uncovered by CBS News in 2003). Atheists
articulated compelling arguments that this document
was specifically drafted to nurture pedophiles priests and provide
them with sanctuary within the Catholic Church (37,
38,
39). As soon as CBS
News uncovered the 1962 Ottaviani mandate, the Catholic Church
swung into damage control, endeavoring to minimize the directive’s
role and significance. It would be wise to read this document very
carefully, as defenders of this mandate claimed the secrecy is only
to maintain the sanctity of the Confessional. The directive clearly broadens the range and scope to before, after
and outside the Confessional on the very first page "even
apart from confession". The victimized
children needed only to make one confession in their lifetime to be
subject to the adroit legal phrasing. Defensive articles attempting to diminish
the significance of this Ottaviani directive claim that it does not
bar the child victims from making separate charges about the
priest's sexual misconduct. On the contrary, atheists pointed out
that in the event the
injured party declined absolute secrecy (sought protection and/or
justice from the authorities), the directive clearly mandates the
molester victims be excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church
for life. The Ottaviani directive makes this unmistakably
crystal clear throughout the document (40,
41).
This mandate was sent to every
Bishop in the world. We observed one irate Catholic woman
challenging a contending atheist: "Show me evidence of even one
child that was excommunicated for going to the authorities!"
Obviously, it took over forty years of legal battles to even uncover
the secret Ottaviani directive, it would probably take an act of
Congress to dig deeper. Some Catholics have taken the
position that Ottaviani's intent was to protect Church assets from
expensive litigation and keeping awkward misdeeds in house.
Atheists have countered; "only a pedophile would safeguard a
pedophile", which does present a certain logic. If the Church
was seeking to protect its assets, contacting the proper authorities
immediately upon learning of sexual child abuse would have
certainly accomplished that objective (42).
Notwithstanding this
directive, studies have shown that proportional sexual abuse by
Catholic Priests is less than any other group, such as Boy Scout
Leaders, Sports Coaches, School Teachers, etc. (43,
44,
45,
46).
The Catholic Church
provided voluntary compensation to victims exceeding $3 Billion, far
beyond any other group. Moreover, a study commissioned by the U.S.
Department of Education
statistically concluded that
sexual abuse of students is over a hundred
times more likely by a public school employee, than by a Catholic
Priest
(47).
The
Crimen
Sollicitationis Directive reversed Pope Saint Pius V's original
Decree stating "Whoever commits such an execrable crime
(pedophilia), by force of the present law be deprived of every
clerical privilege, of every post, dignity and ecclesiastical
benefit, and having been degraded by an ecclesiastical judge, let
him be immediately delivered to the secular authority to be put to
death, as mandated by law as the fitting punishment for laymen who
have sunk into this abyss." Crimen Sollicitationis imposes the
strictest secrecy and orders that an oath of secrecy be taken by the
Church officials appointed to make inquiries and hold a trial. This
secrecy is described as "a secret of the Holy Office". Breaking it
incurs automatic expulsion (excommunication) from the Church,
without any need for a declaration. The oath of secrecy must be
imposed on the accusers and/or denouncers, as well as the accused,
who if s/he breaks it will be automatically expelled by that very
act. The Oath in Formula A is to observe the secret of the Holy
Office.

Crimen
Sollicitationis also nulls the 1917 Code of Canon Law Canon 2359,
§2: "[Clerics in major orders] If they have committed an offense
against the sixth commandment with minors under sixteen years of
age, or been guilty of adultery, rape, bestiality, sodomy, traffic
in vice, or incest with blood relatives or relations by marriage in
the first degree, they shall be suspended, declared infamous,
deprived of every office, benefice, dignity, or position that they
may hold, and in more grievous cases they shall be deposed." If the
Catholic Church adhered to Pope Saint Pius V's Decree and upheld
Canon 2359, §2, there would never have been a pedophile priest
crisis, nor a Priest shortage crisis.
The
Lavender Mafia: Some praying Mantis
species disguise themselves as flower petals to snare their
victims. Pedophiles likewise are adept at infiltrating organizations
that put them in close contact with their adolescent prey.
In debate situations, atheists have attempted to float the
idea that pedophile priests over the years have advanced to
higher positions within the Catholic Church hierarchy, and
subsequently drafted internal legal directives, documents and
mandates to insulate and protect themselves from outside
litigation. There may be a certain logic to this
supposition. In his viral paper
"Standing with the Pope Against Homoheresy", Fr. Dariusz Oko,
Ph.D. revealed that Pope Benedict XVI was battling a huge
homosexual underground in the Vatican known as the
Lavender
Mafia "When they achieve a decision-making position, they try
to promote and advance mostly those whose nature is similar to
theirs" (48).
"80 percent of pedophiles convicted in the USA are
homosexuals". 90 percent of Priests convicted of pedophilia
are homosexual. The bottom line is that Priests do not become pedophiles, pedophiles become Priests.
Ingenuitive pedophiles target careers as Athletic Coaches, Boy Scout leaders,
Day Care Workers, Priests, etc. The recent example of
Jerry Sandusky illustrates how even a University such as Penn State
chose to protect one of their own, while discarding the
accusations and reports of pedophilia. Since the
Cambrian era, predators have found ingenuitive methods to
infiltrated their prey. Jesus foreseen and
warned us to beware of wolves in sheep's clothing: "Beware of
false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but
inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matthew 7:15). Before
considering taking any defensive posture, we highly recommend
becoming thoroughly familiar with

and the this Youtube video:
Another recurrently beleaguered contention is the bizarre
response by Bishop Raymond Boland to a newspaper article that
stated: "The death rate of priests from AIDS is at least four
times that of the general population".
Boland stated that these AIDS deaths show that priests are
only human. "A large part of the answer is implicit in
the remarkable response to the situation tendered by Bishop
Boland. To aver that a priest shows he is human by dying of
AIDS is to say that it is somehow natural to our human state
to engage in acts of passive consensual sodomy, from which the
resultant infection takes its predictable course" (49).
Boland was later implicated in purportedly lying to his enraged
congregation to protect a pedophile priest working with their
children, in which documents implicated that he was allegedly aware
the priest was a pedophile all along (50,
51).
"And whosoever shall offend one of
these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a
millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea"
(Mark 9:42).
The necessary lesson of Judas is a powerful warning in the Gospel,
if a disciple taught directly by Jesus can gravely falter, any other
Church figure under the Pope can also gravely falter. Our
prayers certainly address all the mortified Priests who are in God's
service for all the right reasons, this scandal must have taken a
tremendous toll (52).
Priests are holy people who dedicate
their lives to God. Although it is wise to be cautious,
insects have not chosen to completely abandon all flowers because of
the diminutive risk of landing on one containing a praying mantis
mimicking a petal. It's overwhelming how much damage can be
done by a tiny fraction. It takes entrepreneurship, time,
planning, architects, builders, carpenters, electricians, plumbers,
etc. to build a house. It only takes one evil person with one
match to destroy it. Unfortunately, those bent on destruction
have this innate unfair leverage, namely; "It is much easier to
destroy than to create".
We are deeply grieved and apologize for these unpleasantries, but it is necessary to be
prepared for the most likely criticisms, as not to be caught
off-guard. As Catholics, we question how we could have ever got
to this point, this is where some Private Revelations can help
explain these Institutional breakdowns. The answer appears to
be internal corrosion of morals within the Church. Through
a message given on October
13th (the anniversary day of the last
Apparition of the Virgin Mary to the three children of Fatima and
coinciding with the year of the Roe vs. Wade decision that became
responsible for the deaths of over 55 million defenceless innocent
pre-born babies
in the US alone), by Our most Holy Mother to Sister Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa
in Akita, Japan (declared
worthy of belief by Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict, as well
as the Local Bishop Ito) we are told: "The
work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way
that one will see Cardinals opposing Cardinals, Bishops against
other Bishops. The Priests who venerate Me will be scorned and
opposed by their confreres (other Priests). Churches and altars will
be sacked. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises,
and the demon will press many Priests and consecrated souls to leave
the service of the Lord" (53,
54,
55).
The following is a link to an informative blog
debate. Albeit protracted, it would be essential to read them
(in their entirety) if you are considering debating with
anti-Catholic atheists:

esteemed Catholic apologetic Dinesh D'Souza

Additionally it would helpful to further review blogs, forums and
Youtube videos on these debate topics, as the crass lack of ethics
and morals can be a considerable shock when debating with
anti-Catholic atheists, analogous to thrusting a child as pure as new
fallen snow into
a Turkish prison. Although most of the atheists writing on
these blogs seem to be striving to get a rise out of Catholics by
crude sexual comments and sadistic viewpoints, others seem to
envision a world as portrayed by Woody Allen in the 1973 futuristic
comedy film "Sleeper", in which everybody has sex with everybody all
the time, devoid of children and responsibility. It seems
their only purpose for existence is the perfection of sexual
promiscuousness, and the cure to all the world's dilemmas can only
be solved by squadrons of aircraft sprinkling condoms all over
the globe. Many assert that the Catholic Church is killing
societies with AIDS
because it preaches abstinence. That abortion, condoms and
extreme sex
are a universal remedy. The truth is that the Catholic
Church promotes abstinence outside marriage, which is the only
effective method to combat these sexually transmitted diseases
(STD's). Condoms are only partially effective during the isolated
act of intercourse and create a false sense of security, which
leads to more encounters with more partners. Obviously humans are
not robots, as intercourse begins with kissing and other oral
actions in which bodily fluids make contact. The herpes simplex
virus and syphilis are transmitted via kissing (56). Notwithstanding that
abstinence is 100% effective and condoms are only 87% effective at
best (57). If you had a Russian Roulette pistol that could hold a
100 chamber cylinder, with 13 bullets in it (87 empty chambers),
would you willingly spin the cylinder, put it to your head and pull
the trigger? A "no" answer is abstinence, a "yes" answer is
condoms. It's simple math, what's not to understand?
Furthermore, the false sense of security of condoms leads to
increased sexual encounters, so the hypothetical Russian Roulette
pistol is against your head much more often. At some point, the
odds will obviously catch up. Moreover, observe the hostility
and rage directed at any institution that stands in the way of their
Utopian society base purely on sex. They seem to manifest a
sexual addiction, like a drug addict who would lash out against anyone standing in the way of their next fix.

providing condoms to 12 year old students

Some Atheists incessantly endeavor to drag and confine debates to
condoms (compelling many contenders to surmise that they
limited their
entire stock portfolio to prophylactics). In
debate situations, atheist typically craft countless unrealistic
scenarios to justify condoms, and then ask; "Would the Roman
Catholic Church recommend condoms if that were the case?"
Almost like dealing with a two year old, with the constant "What
ifs". Frequently, you may detect a noticeable hatred towards
God, and begin to realize; "How can anyone have such deep rooted
hatred for something they proclaim doesn't exist?"
Moreover, this rage seems to be similar to "angry child syndrome",
whereas some children attempt to provoke a reaction from the parent
(God) via negative behavior. This can be clearly seen in one
of the above examples,
particularly with the atheist who repeatedly posted the provoking parody
he made up of the Lord's Prayer. When
occasional statements arise similar to; "I would rather be laughing
with my friends in hell, than spend eternity in Heaven crying with
the Saints", it might be considered a Freudian
slip of a belief in an afterlife (58).
Most
Roman Catholic Parishes have been given informative lectures
on the HHS Mandate. The following is an 84 minute presentation
given by Catholic musician and speaker Al Barbarino. There are
67 million Catholics in the United States and 51 million votes
are required to win a Presidential Election. Simply getting
Catholics on the same page can be an effective means to sway
all Political Elections.

Who is more moral: A man who doesn’t believe in heaven and
lives a moral life, or a man who believes in heaven and is
only living morally for the payoff?
